HOW WE OPERATE
Ideally we get involved at the inception of a a project and are keenly aware of the overall business environment and commercial prospects for the proposed development. We will not hesitate to recommend against proceeding if we believe it is not in the client's best interest.
PARTICIPATION
Generally, we have an agreed hourly rate and can work with the client’s engineering and marketing people where that makes sense. We also have relationships with other engineering service providers and IP Attorneys so we can deliver a comprehensive and effective solution for the client.
In special cases we may consider other forms of client engagement. For early stage companies may be a workable options. Royalty arrangements are also a possibility.
CUSTOMER VALUE
In many cases, we can leverage engineering systems to create value beyond their nominal function. Value that, otherwise, could not be unlocked economically. That value could be in economy, safety, sustainability, productivity or simply convenience
We also provide an expert witness service, particularly for patent infringement cases. In these situations, early involvement usually makes sense. We can provide an initial factual perspective. Ideally this can help lead to a negotiated settlements that minimizes legal costs and protracted court proceedings.
